Lt. Col. (Ret.) United States Air Force Buel Woodrow Woolverton

 

Beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and long-time resident of Redlands passed away quietly on November 29, 2011, in Redlands surrounded by his wife of 55 years, Beverly, and their family.

 

He was born April 2, 1931, in Arkansas to Wayne and Gladys Woolverton, both deceased.

 

Buel and Bev had four children: Russell Woolverton (deceased), Karen (Woolverton) Dean, Pam (Woolverton) Whitehurst, and Michelle Woolverton as well as 10 grandchildren.

 

Buel, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, spent 29 years in the U.S. Air Force (1950-1979) proudly serving his country as a helicopter pilot, special operations flight pilot, Aeronautical Engineer, and at the Pentagon. He later worked as an engineer with the San Bernardino County for nearly 20 years until he retired in 2009.

 

Buel will be interned at the Riverside National Cemetery with a private High Honor Military service.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at 3:00 PM, at the Emmerson-Bartlett Mortuary Chapel in Redlands, CA.
