Charles Edward Boehm, USAF (Retired)

Charles Edward Boehm, 82, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek in Idaho Falls. He was born May 21, 1931, in Baraboo, Wis., to Edward Boehm and Hazel Ruhland Boehm.

 

Growing up, he went to school in Madison, Wis., and later attended the University of Wisconsin. He joined the Air Force in July 1952 and received pilot training. He flew planes and helicopters, and was a KC135 instructor. He retired from the Air Force in 1973.

 

On Dec. 19, 1959, he married Leona M. Laird in Orfordville, Wis.

 

Charles enjoyed electronics, photography, sailing, the Idaho Falls Symphony and classical music.

 

He is survived by his two daughters, Tracey M. (Mark) Casaletto of Modesto, Calif., and Michelle (Chris) Prine of Merced, Calif.; his son, Charles E. (Leana) Boehm Jr. of Rigby; his sister, Marcia (Russell) Severance of Reeves Junction, Mich.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Boehm; and his parents.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. in Rigby. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
