GUEST BOOK

Faith, Derry was a very sweet, kind man. I remember when I was about 7, somebody squished a frog on the bottom of the pool. Nobody would get in because we were all grossed out. Him being Derry hopped in a scooped it out, then throwing us all back into the pool. He was like a grandpa to all the kids in the neighborhood. I will miss him very much.

Please know that I'm praying for the love of God to be real and near to all of you in these difficult days. One thing death can never steal away is the impact of love Derry invested in you [and me too]. Uncle Derry was a consistent source of joy and light. His infectious warmth, and playful wit, spilled all over you every time you bumped into him. I'm grateful for every way in which he poured joy into my life.

May God bless you all,

Much love always

Faith, Kris, Amy, Laura and David, you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I fondly remember Derry as such a sweet and easygoing man - and so unassuming for his many admirable accomplishments. He was always kind and warm to me, and I think back to how he cheerfully tolerated a lot of girly silliness on those mornings he drove me and Laura to school :) I wish I could be there to help you honor him at his service, but please know I'm sending love.
