Lt. Col. Joseph F. Mudd entered this life on 30 January 1932 in Detroit, MI. Departed this life on 22 October 1973 at Osan AB, Korea.

 

Survived by his wife, Rosemary, two daughters; Lisa and Laurie, and six sons; Joseph, Timothy, Thomas, Stephen, Samuel and Michael. All of Riverside, CA. His parents; Dr. and Mrs. Richard Mudd of Saginaw, MI. Four sisters; Mary Hale, Johanna Vargas and Rose Nichodemus of Detroit, MI. and Stella Crowe of San Antonio, TX., and two brothers; Richard and Thomas Mudd of Detroit, MI.

 

Col. Mudd attended St. Mary Hight School in Saginaw, MI., Central Military Academy, San Antonio, TX., Northwestern Preparatory, Minneapolis, MN and the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD.

 

His assignments in the Air Force included Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC., Columbus AFB, MS., Randolph AFB, TX., Lockbourne AFB, OH, Biggs AFB, TX., Wurtsmith AFB, MI., Little Rock AFB, AR., March AFB, CA., Da Nang AB, RVN, and Osan AB, Korea.

 

Col. Mudd received the following decorations; the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster; the Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters; the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Vietnam Campaign Medal
