CLARK EDWARD LOVRIEN, JR.

Final Flight on May 01, 2015

Clark Edward Lovrien, Jr, USAF (Retired)

November 01, 1937 - May 01, 2015

Clark Edward Lovrien, Jr., was born November 1, 1937, in Mason City, Iowa. After a year-long battle with cancer, he died on Sunday, May 3, 2015.

Clark graduated from Riverside High School, in Milwaukee, WI, in 1955. In July 1955, he entered the United States Air Force Academy as a member of the first class of the USAFA. Graduating from the USAFA in 1959, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF. After competing pilot training, he was stationed at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. After a tour in Vietnam in 1966, he attended the Navy Test Pilot School, in Patuxent River, MD, graduating in 1968. He served as an Air Force test pilot from 1968 until his retirement in 1979. His last five years of active duty were served with AFOTEC, Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque.

Clark met his wife of 53 years, Reba Foster Lovrien, while stationed at Goodfellow AFB. They were married December 28, 1961.

After Clark retired from the Air Force, he and Reba owned and operated Clark's Springtime, Inc., in Albuquerque. They were in business for 28 years. In 1998, they sold their home and decided to travel fulltime in their motor home. Turning the business over to their son and finally selling it in 2003, they were free to live their dream of seeing the USA. Clark was invited to join the Rotary Club of Albuquerque in 1982, serving as president of the club in 1989-90. He served as District Governor of Rotary Intl. District 5520 in 1993-94. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Rotary E Club of the Southwest.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tijeras.

Clark is predeceased by his parents and his brother. He is survived by his wife, Reba; four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren and two sisters.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Tijeras and interment will follow at the United States Air Force Academy on a date to be decided.
