I too can’t believe Bob has gone to be with The Lord. I met Bob while getting stationed with the 67th ARRS at RAF Woodbridge . He and I were in the engine shop together . He was one of the smartest engine guys I knew. I am still proudly serving in the Air Force after 29 Years and can say I think Bob forgot more then I will ever know. He always did the unexpected. I remember this one night on a 12 hour shift he was outside the shop running an MD-3 and using the hot exhaust to pop his Jiffy Pop. He did the unexpected but was a great guy at heart and that Kindness of his invited me to his house for Thanksgiving. My prayers and condolences go out to his family . Just know the good lord is protecting him. And looking out for everyone.

I have known Bob “The Animal” Koehler since I was in high school. He was one of the funniest, coolest, most memorable friends that I have ever had. Bob was the kind of charismatic person that you will only be fortunate enough to meet once in a lifetime. Thank you for all the good times we had together, Bob, and may you rest in peace.

Love you Brother,

Michael Dean Ferrell

May God bless those of you left behind by the untimely passing of Bob. I didn’t know Bob personally but we became friends through Facebook. We shared time in the Air Force. We were both Rotorheads. We had that same passion. Bob was always ready to pray for me when I asked him to. I really feel that if I asked him to come to North Dakota to help, he would have jumped the next plane. I enjoyed Bob’s wacky sense of humor and his biting wit. I will always think of him as sitting on the Front Porch sharing donuts and coffee with his mom. I ask the the God of peace will give you all peace through this most difficult time. Goodbye, Bob. I will miss you!

Honestly I’ve been staring at this screen for an hour and I’m still just stunned at his passing. I met Bob in the Air Force 26 years ago … we were both stationed with the 67th ARRS (Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron) at RAF Woobridge in the UK. When he was introduced to me they said “this is Animal” … because he had a perpensity to do the unexpected and he was a real character. He was one of the funniest and most memorable guys I’ve ever known. Some of my fondest memories are working with him on the HH-53 helicopters and going TDY all over Europe. He made the trips to good places like Italy, Wales, Scotland, Germany, France, etc even better and trips to less pleasant places like Morocco tolerable. He was a true patriot and one of the most dedicated and knowledgable jet engine mechanics we had. He always seemed wiser than his years to me and he always went out of his way to meet the new guys and do whatever he could to help if they needed anything. I never had to good fortune to be stationed with Bob after I left RAF Woodbridge but those two years were very special thanks to him. In my later years I’d meet other people who knew Bob and the mere mention of his name was a catalyst to start telling stories, laughing and smiling and remembering all the things he’d done and said … I will miss him. Thanks to Facebook we ran into each other again a while back and he hadn’t changed a bit … not that I’d have expected him to change. If I could offer anything to his other friends, family and loved one it’d be the words of Rabindranith Tagore who said “If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars”.

Bob will surely be missed, Angie is a very close friend and my Father worked with Bob at Home Depot as well. Bob always had a smile on his face anytime I saw him and a wonderful sense of humor. I want Angie to know she has the support, strength and love she will need in the days, the weeks and months to follow from all her friends here at work. Also to Bob’s family and loved ones I am deeply sorry for your loss and may God be with you during this difficult time. With Deepest Sympathy, Michele
