George A. Washington Jr.

On August 16, 2012, George A. Washington Jr., entered into eternal rest at Kindred Hospital North Florida.


Mr. Washington was a lifelong resident of St. Johns County, was a graduate of R.J. Murray High School, class of 1966, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.


He is survived by his wife, Audrey D. Washington; his children, Terrence and Chantel Washington; three grandchildren; his mother, Viola Washington; brother, Willie Washington; and sisters, Carolyn Young, Helen Washington, Linda Hicks and Mary Washington.


Services will be Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Congregational Holiness Church, Green Cove Springs. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at First African M.B. Church, Green Cove Springs, Rev. Clarence Jenkins, officiating.


Burial will be Monday, August 27, at 12:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors.


Friends and family please honor the request of the late George A. Washington jr. and put on your Air Force Blue as we celebrate his home going.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Leo C. Chase & Son Funeral Home, St. Augustine.
