Lamont E. "Bud" Rousseau, Colonel, USAF (Retired)

May 26, 1930 - February 10, 2015

Rousseau, Lamont E. (Bud) Col USAF (Ret) Of Bellevue. Bud Rousseau was born on May 26, 1930 and passed away on February 10, 2015 following a long illness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan; daughter, Patty Crider and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Jessica Garcia and her husband Tex, Kelly Crider, Nicholas Crider; great-grandchildren, Lila and Holly Garcia; son, Alan Rousseau; and sister-in-law, nieces and nephew.

Bud graduated from E Stroudsberg University in PA and was a 31-year veteran of the United States Air Force. He piloted various aircraft including the H-13/H19 helicopter, F-4 jet, and B-52 bomber. Bud participated in 5 battle campaigns during the Vietnam war and was awarded various awards and commendations for outstanding conduct.

After retirement from the military Bud worked for the Henry Doorly Zoo as an administrative assistant providing personal support for the social functions and guided tours. He was a member of the Military Officer's Association and Society of Daedalians.

Bud's kindness, wit, and love will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was truly an officer and a gentleman.

Family will receive friends, Friday, February 13 from 5-7pm for a Time of Remembrance at Bellevue Memorial Chapel. MEMORIAL SERVICE Saturday, February 14 at 11am at First Presbyterian Church, Bellevue. Inurnment Bellevue Cemetery.

Bud Rousseau was my aircraft commander in 1970 when I was a co-pilot and we were stationed at Kincheloe AFB in Michigan. He was a man of extreme integrity, and a real gentleman to boot. I'm proud to call him a friend, and know he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dear Rousseau Family - Over the years I have fondly remembered the long ago trip to Bellevue in 1987 and the tremendous hospitality shown my family. The special time Bud took at the zoo with my 2 small boys will never be forgotten. I even remember delicious cinnamon rolls for breakfast before we left for Arizona. Thank you for the years of Christmas cards, too. Bud was a wonderful person and will be missed. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Dear Joan, Alan, Patty and Family: I am thinking of you with love and support. Bud was a highly respected, much admired man throughout all of his professional and personal life. My first job through Offutt Base Education, in about 1980, included an interview by "the big boss", Col. Rousseau, who proved to be so non-threatening, friendly, and helpful that all anxiety I'd built up was immediately alleviated. Then, twenty years later, a treasured memory is of the Alaska trip/cruise shared with Joan and Bud, among six couples. I regret I am presently in Florida, so cannot hug you, Joan; but I look forward to seeing you at Mah Jongg this spring to share continued friendship. Please allow family and friends to share your loss and know that I am sympathetic to your sorrow. MUCH LOVE.
