Hello Rotorheads.

My dad, MSGT Francis (Frank) J. Lawlor, Jr., was in maintenance and flying roles in Hueys and H-3's. Udorn, Thailand 69-70, Hurlburt Field, Fl 70-71, Hill AFB Utah, 71-73, Osan, Korea 73-74, Hill AFB Utah, 74-75, Kirtland AFB, NM 75-76, Scott AFB, IL, 76-80, Kirtland AFB, NM 80-83, Sheppard AFB, TX 83-87.

Dad passed away on 10/12/08 in Wichita Falls, TX.

God bless you all. Dad was a true "Hover Lover."

     Your Dad and I spent many days and nights working on our helicopters and swaping war stories. He was a tireless worker and one of the "good guys". Thanks for posting and God Bless.

My name is Tyson Rees.
I was doing a google search and happened upon this page. I don't know if this is the correct forum for this, but on behalf of my father, I would like to submit his name along with his PJ as recipients of the 1979 Cheney award.
Their names are LtCol(Ret) Kenneth R Rees Jr. and Tsgt John L. Pighini.
They were involved in the rescue of civilians from a burning hotel roof top & balcony in Zaragosa, Spain.

I plan to register later. I was at Forbes and Tyndall AFB as H-3 Helicopter mechanic, H-53 mechanic at NKP, Thailand (40th ARRs. H-53 Flt Eng at NKP (40th ARRS), 55th ARRs (Eglin), and 67th at Woodbridge. It'll be great to reconnect with the guys of those years

     Jesus, i don't know if you remember me..i was at NKP with the 40th ARRS. Crew Chief on HH-43's during the day time at night was assisting on the HH-53's at night in 74-75. I left 1 month prior April) to the mission you went on the Mayaquez Seizure.
