Stumbled onto this site and really enjoyed it! Recognized a few names. USAFA 1974-1978, USAF 1978-2006. UHT class 79-10, yellow hats, graduated Ft Rucker, Aug 15, 1979. Primarily flew CH/HH-3Es, C-141s and KC-10s, but also logged time in these helicopters UH-1H, UH-1N, Bell-212, Bolivian UH-1H, and Afghan Mi-17. I plan to join Rotorheads.

Seeking anyone who remembers me for buddy statements. VA says I have to provide PROOF to get my claim. I was stationed at NKP 72&73 Air Force. I took EOD training and then went out on HH 53's as a passenger on various missons. It seems the Air Force only has my entrance and exit service documents! Any assistance is apprecited.(509)392-3860

I was AF from '62-'82. Retirwed at MAC headquaters at Sott AFB. During 1967-68 I was stationed at Udorn, Thjailand. Whilke there primary job was aircraft hyraulics- did spend a short time detailed to transient alert.

My question is can any of the members help me locate/find out where Lima Site 36 (LS36) was in Laos? I went to a site where we landed going uphill and took-off going downhill. I would go on missions to recover battle damaged A1E's.

Never knew where I was but a source on the Udorn history site thinks it was LS36. Appreciate any help. Also thanks ever so much for your lovely helos. I got a wild ride out of Laos on one ocassion. Remember, anyone can fly- to hover is divine.

John, you might get the info you want from Jim Burns on this site. I flew into 36 a couple of times with the 20th SOS but, that was 40 years ago and, I've slept since then(haha).

This is as close as I can get. Looking at Google earth it really don't look the same as when we were there but I got this from a mission report that gave the lat/long.
